Florida River and Stream Diversion

The property is disected by a stretch of the Florida River(pronounced "Flor-ree-da" -- Spanish word for "Flower") is between theLemon Dam (and Lake) and the City of Durango. The Dam regulates theflow on the river, and prevents flooding. The River is a "technical"Kayaking River (the little short Kayaks traverse; but not many peoplehave the skill to do so), and is reputed to be an excellent troutfishing river.

The lot has a small stream that enters the river (it is actually adiversion from upstream) near the site that we believe to be the bestbuilding site. I had envisoned putting a small bridge justdownstream from a small pond, and lining the creek with some of thenice, flat rocks that shear off those cliffs.
